18th-Century Red Wool Cloak
An Iconic Outerwear Piece
This cloak was created from a wool melton and silk taffeta lining. The fully handsewn cloak was adapted from the pattern in Costume Close Up: Clothing Construction and Pattern, 1750-1790 by Linda Baumgarten.
The red wool cloak was a very popular outwear choice, especially in England, during the late 18th and early 19th century.
